Thursday, 20 November 2008 09:30 by Meri

We have a closing date!  Our walk-through is 12/29 with our final walk-through and closing scheduled for 1/5/2009.  So very exciting!  Received 3 more pictures yesterday - drywall is up and the stone on the front of the house.

My house!

House updates

We have more house pictures!  I put in our vacate notice for our apartment and have been getting moving estimates already.  We have less than 60 days until move time!  The build is on schedule and looking amazing.  I can't believe we are building a house!

Our realtor was planning on heading out to visit the site this weekend and take us some more shots, including the backyard and neighborhood - stay tuned!

Halloween

Sunday, 16 November 2008 09:04 by Meri

For Halloween, we not only took Samantha trick-or-treating but we also participated in a party at Gymboree.  This year Sam was Little Red Riding Hood.  Recently, Sam has taken a liking to carrying round a basket at home, filling it will small toys or socks.  This inspired her costume (conveniently purchased on eBay) and she couldn't have played the part any better!

Since Sam and Jade are so close in age (1 month!), Frank, Andrea, Lloyd, and I thought it would be a lot of fun to take the girls trick-or-treating together - with Nala too of course!  Along with Frank & Andrea's friends, we had quite the little group going.  The babies had a blast and proved to be experts at trick-or-treating (treats only). I was a Christmas tree and Lloyd was a hot dog.

After trick-or-treating, we went to a small Halloween party where Sam out-partied everyone! She made a ton of new friends and even learned to play poker!

Pumpkin Patch

Sunday, 16 November 2008 08:50 by Meri

One blustery day, we decided to take Samantha to a pumpkin patch in RTP. The field trips were clearing out, so Sam and a couple of other toddlers had the whole place to themselves. There were goats, sheep, pumpkins, hay, cotton, hay ride, and slides (both normal and giant tube) to play with.

Despite the look on her face, she really enjoyed the animals.  By the end of the day, she literally had them eating out of her hand!

Sam also did a great job at navigating the corn maze. The terrain was a little unforgiving, so Daddy had to assist her.

There were pumpkins, a hay bale maze, and a giant tube for crawling. Mommy had to step in and help when Sam decided to stop halfway.
